Mermaid is a text-based diagram editor, basically.
So, Notion has a Mermaid block natively built in now. Just add a block, and search mermaid.


Voila. If you understand Mermaid, you can just type away. If you don’t you can learn. If you’re too lazy? You can ask ChatGPT or Gemini to make you a Mermaid diagram and you can just copy-paste it in.




See fig 4, that’s what a mermaid diagram looks like. You can see that there’s the <br/> tag like in HTML used to insert a line break, so that the numbers stay on top of the captions.
Yes, a native version of a diagram editor would be nice. But again, Notion is mostly text-based, so we’re working with their language. Just like what I wrote in here
